I tried two other different brand keyboards and they just don’t have the quality of this one.1) They are heavier, and for me defeat the purpose of the IPad Air being so lightweight2) They do not offer the finger gestures that for me are so practical to use, I use them all the time on my MacBook. With those other brands of keyboards I’d have to use the Fn key plus a number to get the same result, one more thing to remember, no thanks.3) in one of the other brand ones the cursor kept being erratic, lagging.CONCLUSIONYes, I ended paying $100 more but I’m completely satisfied with the product.I am typing on this keyboard as I write this review - and the experience is remarkably like that of an Apple MacBook. I purchased this as a replacement for my Logitech Folio keyboard for my 11” iPad Pro as I was constantly annoyed at that not keeping a connection and inability to reliably type and dropped letters. This is a vastly superior experience from a typing standpoint. The backlight was important to me and the trackpad is a very nice addition, although I still find myself using the touchscreen more. The fact that this is powered by the iPad with pass through charging is incredible, leaving my USB-C port for dongles and storage if needed. I do lament the lack of inclusion of an Apple Pencil holder, as something that costs $300 should have a safe way of holding onto this. The lack of function keys are something I miss from the Logitech folio as well. I was a bit concerned about the robustness of the hinge, but given the history Apple has with manufacturing hinges, this appears to be textbook solid, and I suspect will not have any issues. Overall, this is a great solution, with a few drawbacks that would have made it 5 stars; If you are frustrated with typical keyboard attachments for the iPad Pro, this will certainly make you happy.100% honest review: Good product, it’s sturdy and it works well for what I need. however, i use it for school and just on the first day i’ve already noticed some cons that affected my opinion of it heavily. for starters, it’s like 2lbs of weight which added to the ipad is kind of annoying. Also, when typing on a doc you can’t just hold delete, you have to hit the backspace for each individual letter. i keep accidentally hitting caps lock with my pinky as i type and not realizing, so i have to delete entire sentences letter by letter. also, one of the other most aggravating things is the spot for the pencil. when you attach the ipad, the spot on the top by the volume buttons is completely open just like attaching the pencil to the ipad without a case. this makes putting my ipad in my backpack without losing the pen nearly impossible. in most cases it’s enclosed in the case so it doesn’t fall out, but it isn’t with this. for how expensive it was, you’d think it would have a slot. the bottom piece (nib) literally fell off of my pen when i went to put it in my bag because it’s just open and it really doesn’t attach to the actual ipad that securely, so there’s no extra protection at all. Like i said, the keyboard does what i need it for, but the little things like that just make it inconvenient, especially for the price. honestly if ur thinking ab this i understand you likely already spent the money on the ipad but i’d honestly recommend just getting a new laptop. at least that way it’ll be worth the price AND have all the functions you need. plus anything on safari on the ipad isn’t on the desktop website, so you’re already not really getting the best experience anyway. i didn’t have the money for that and got the ipad for christmas so this was best for me, and again it does work for all intents and purposes, just has minor inconveniences that in my opinion make this a $50 keyboard at best.I absolutely LOVE this keyboard. Turns my tablet into a mini laptop, track pad and all. Easy to use and a must have in my opinion. I’ll never own another iPad without the magic keyboard.its just a keyboard but an ipad but since it has the apple logo on it its marked up. it has good quality but should be around $190 not $340I bought this apple iPad folio to permit me to use my iPad more like a regular computer, with a trackpad. It works perfectly. It is heavier than the competition, but I don’t mind.Pros- The lifted screen and angling mechanism is the best. The nearest competition has a fold out back part, but you quickly discover that you need two points on the flat surface to set up the iPad, which is awful if you have it on your lap (DUH???) or in bed on your torso.The backlit keyboard is a pleasure for me to use but hitting number keys whilst the iPad is positioned is not ideal, but I can adjust the ipad angle without losing balance, and it’s OK.Extra charging port on the side is cute; I haven’t used it yet.Cons-The bar of function keys is missing. I think I can live without them but the Brightness, VOlume, and Mute buttons sure came in handy. Also a real Esc key.Here’s a weird thing; if you let the folio drop closed with the iPen attached, the force will sometimes be enough to make the pen shoot off the pad.The folio does seem to drain the iPad battery even when closed. I don’t know why.Yeah it’s pricey, but I travelled with the competition’s version for a month, and by the time I got home I had decided the extra money was worth it for the added stability alone.I hope this helpedTurns your iPad into a touch screen laptop when you want one. Converts easily back to regular iPad if you don’t need a keyboard.Haven’t had a problem at all with this keyboard. Leider muss ich das bei der Lieferung, die ich bekommen habe, auch bestätigen. Die Kleinigkeiten am USB-Anschluss und Gelenk hätte ich noch akzeptiert. Die Rückseite ist allerdings eine Katastrophe. Da ist eine deutliche Blasenbildung zu erkennen. Ansonsten hätte mir die Tastatur gut gefallen. Ich sende den Artikel jetzt direkt zurück und warte auf die Ersatzlieferung.Purchased this end of Feb 2021 and received March 1st 2021.When i received this keyboard i thought it was amazing and much better than the earlier type keyboards that i have purchased for the iPad pro's.Last week 3 of the keys fell off. I called Apple who then booked me to the Bluewater store to have it checked today (26/04/21). On arrival a Technician examined the keyboard and admitted they had never seen this before and they don't have the tool to remove the keys and will have to order it in. Whilst they were examining the keyboard another 2 keys fell off!I asked for a replacement, but was informed they will attempt to repair it. I then asked what happens if more keys fall out to be told that i will need to take it back to them for repair.Absolute joke. £297.00 for a keyboard that the keys fall out and have to wait each time for repair.I will keep you all updated of the outcome once i hear back from Apple for the repair date.Pro:Das Apple Magic Keyboard für das iPad ist endlich das Zubehör für das iPad Pro, welches es schon längst hätte geben sollen. Die Tastatur ist exakt wie bei MacBooks, die Tasten sind beleuchtet und das Touchpad funktioniert ebenfalls wie am MacBook. Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass das iPad mit vollständiger Tastatur und Touchpad so einen Mehrwert erfährt. Es ist jetzt deutlich produktiver nutzbar.Neutral:Das Material der Apple iPad Hüllen finde ich nicht sonderlich hochwertig und es ist extrem fett empfindlich, d.h. nach kurzer Zeit bilden sich Fettabdrücke und Glanzstellen. Des Weiteren zieht es Dreck / Staub magisch an.Negativ:Was jedoch vollkommen inakzeptabel ist, ist die Verarbeitungsqualität. Wie bereits im Internet zu finden, ist auch an meinem Magic Keyboard die Rückseite nicht richtig laminiert. Es sind Blasen erkennbar (siehe Foto). Des Weiteren sind auch an meinem USB-C Anschluss an der Seite Kleberreste vorhanden. So eine Verarbeitung wäre bei einer 50,- EUR Hülle okay, aber nicht bei einem Premium-Produkt zum Mondpreis von 340,- EUR!Unabhängig davon finde ich den Preis mehr als grenzwertig. Sofern das Magic Keyboard perfekt verarbeitet ist, ist es wirklich ein deutlicher Mehrwert für das iPad Pro. Aber selbst dann wäre ein Preis von ca. 200,- bis 250,- EUR vollkommen ausreichend!Fazit:Großer Mehrwert für das iPad Pro, jedoch mit gravierenden Verarbeitungsfehlern (Stand Mai 2020).Ich habe bereits über Amazon.de Ersatz angefordert und hoffe, dass die 2. Das Austausch-Keyboard ist jetzt auch einwandfrei verarbeitet und daher erhöhe ich meine Bewertung jetzt auf 4-Sterne.Quite simply the best and most thoughtfully crafted keyboard case for the 2018 and 2020 iPad Pro range. The keyboard experience is second to none and having used Brydge products in the past I can say this is way more satisfying to type on. Backlighting on keyboard is a nice addition, viewing angles are just fine and protection is adequate, unless you drop your iPad. Only downside was the price. It is vastly over priced but it is extremely high quality and the trackpad opens up a whole new world of possibilities for what is essentially a tablet. Now it’s closer than ever to being a computer. Highly recommendedIch schreibe diese Rezension mit diesem hier rezensierten Keyboard, und ja das Schreibgefühl ist gut, die Tasten haben einendeutlichen Druckpunkt und sind auch sonst von einem Apple MacBook nicht groß zu unterscheiden.Die Hintergrundbeleuchung ist (wenn auch umständlich) regelbar und an die fehlende Escape Taste kann man sich gewöhnen.Das Design ist auch gut, und das Material macht anfänglich einen guten Eindruck.Das Touchpad ist gut, ich verwende es aber am iPad so gut wie gar nicht, da eine Bedienung über das Pad einfach intuitiver ist. Dennoch ist es gut zu nutzen, wenn man die Bedienung eines Notebooks gewohnt ist.Schön ist auch, dass das Display zu schweben scheint und man den Winkel - in Maßen - frei einstellen kann.Bis hierhin mag man sich die Frage stellen, warum ich bei soviel Positivem doch nur drei Sterne vergeben habe?Nunja, es fängt mit dem Preis an. Zu dem aktuell gefordertem Preis von über 300 Euro gibt es bereits komplette iPads, und hier handelt es sich „nur“ um eine - wenn auch gute - Tastatur.Für die Preisgestaltung kann man eigentlich nicht mehr als 2 Sterne vergeben.Dann wäre die eingeschränkte Benutzung: Mit dieser Tastatur kann man - im Gegensatz zu anderen verfügbaren und günstigeren iPad Pro Tastatur - das iPad nur im Notebook Modus benutzen. Man kann die Tastatur nicht nach hinten klappen, so dass man das Pad normal benutzen kann. Ja, man kann das Pad einfach aus der Hülle entnehmen, aber dann muss man mit der Tastatur ja irgendwo hin, und das iPad ist dann ungeschützt. Das ist irgendwie unpraktisch. Obwohl ich sagen muss, dass man sich durchaus an den Notebook Modus gewöhnen kann, und die Tastatur auch als Standhilfe nutzen kann. Aber es wäre einfach passender, wenn man die Tastatur als Klapphülle nutzen könnte.Ein weiterer negativer Punkt ist die Empfindlichkeit der Tastatur. Apple hat seit Jahren enorme Probleme mit seinen Notebooktastaturen. Hier gibt es für ältere Modelle sogar ein unbefristetes Austauschprogramm, weil man einfach keine gute Lösung gefunden hat.Mit den neuen Generationen von Notebooks gab es dann auch überarbeitete Tastaturen. Diese Technik findet auch bei diesem Keyboard hier Anwendung.Aber leider ist diese Technik genauso empfindlich wie bei den alten Modellen.Kleinste Schmutzpartikel setzen sich in der Mechanik der Tastatur fest und blockieren einzelne Tasten. Bei mir ist die Enter Taste betroffen.Reinigungen aller Art (auch wie von Apple empfohlen mit Druckluft) haben zu keiner Besserung geführt. Die Taste funktioniert noch, hat aber keinen guten Druckpunkt mehr.Zwei Sterne für die Mechanik!Die Tastatur saugt außerdem den Akku des IPads im Nu leer. Wo ich sonst einen ganzen Tag mit dem iPad Pro arbeiten kann, bleibt bei angeschlossener Tastatur vielleicht nur etwas mehr als die Hälfte der Zeit übrig. Die Hintergrundbeleuchtung, die standardmäßig immer aktiv ist, scheint hier einer der Hauptschuldigen zu sein.Da hilft es nur wenig, dass die Tastatur einen eigenen, aber in der Anwendung stark beschränkten, USB-C Anschluss besitzt, mit dem man das iPad auch laden kann.Für den Batterieverbrauch vergebe ich auch hier nur 2 Sterne.Die Qualität des Materials ist langfristig gesehen auch nicht das Beste. Hier ist ein Hauptproblem die umlaufende Schweißnaht. Diese ist extrem empfindlich, und hat bereits nach kurzer Nutzung, bei guter Behandlung, mehrere unschöne Dellen.Die Hülle zieht zudem Schmutz an wie ein Magnet.Für diese Probleme erneut nur maximal drei Sterne.Abgeschlossen wird die Negativliste durch das Gewicht. Die Hülle ist mehr als doppelt so schwer wie das iPad Pro selbst. Mit angedockter Tastatur ist das iPad Pro ein echtes Schwergewicht und fast so schwer oder gar schwerer wie das kleinste Apple Macbook Air.Das ist eigentlich zu viel und macht den Nutzen des ansonsten federleichten iPads wett.Fazit:Ja es macht durchaus Spaß mit dieser Tastatur zu schreiben, und ja, mit diesem Keyboard wird das iPad Pro fast zu einem echten Notebook. Das Schreibgefühl und die Haptik sind zu einem Apple Notebook nahezu identisch.Leider dominieren bei diesem Produkt die negativen Aspekte, die dazu führen, dass ich dieses „Magic Keyboard“ leider nicht empfehlen kann. Schon gar nicht zu diesem Preis. Fremdanbieter sind hier die günstigere und wahrscheinlich auch bessere Wahl. Schade!
